    George E. Weida, 78, prominent Lynn Township farmer, died yesterday in his New Tripoli R. 1 home.

    Weida farmed in Lynn Township until he retired 14 years ago.

    Born in New Tripoli R. 1, he was a son of the late Owen J. and Mary A. (Werley) Weida. He was the husband of the former Hattie E. Reimert.

    He and his wife obseved their 55th wedding anniversary last October. He was a member of the Lutheran congregation of St. Peter's Union Church, Lynnville.

    Surviving beside his widow are two daughters, Marian, wife of Frank Leidich, Cataasauqua, and Dorothy, wife of Dr. Forrest Moyer of Allentown; three sons, the Rev. Willard G. Weida of Kutztown, Clarence W. of Slatington R. 1 and George O., at home; two sisters, Emmaus, wife of Harvey Kemmerer of Emmaus [hmmm, census shows Emma, so either a typo, or Emma is short for Emmaus?], and Mrs. Anna Wessner of Allentown; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

    Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in St. Peter's Church. Viewing will be 7-8:30 p.m. Saturday in the Keller Funeral Home, New Tripoli.
