    The funeral of the late Mr. George Walker, a resident of Newbridge for 51 years, took place on Saturday, moving from his late residence, "Rothwell," Newbridge, for the Tarnagulla Cemetery, where the remains were interred in the Church of England portion. The cortege was a lengthy one. Six of the deceased gentleman's sons acted as pallbearers. Mr. J. F. G. Hathnance conducted the burial service.

    At "Rothwell", Newbridge, yesterday morning, after a protracted illness, Mr. George Walker, an old and highly respected resident passed away, at the age of 78 years. The deceased gentleman was on of the first selectors in the district in the early fifties.
