George W. Stamper, 87, Olive Hill, died early today in Veterans Administration Hospital in Huntington, W. Va., following an extended illness.

Mr. Stamper was born Nov. 5, 1896, in Carter County, a son of the late George and Sara McGlone Stamper.

He was a retired farmer and a World War I veteran.

Surviving are two daugthers, Mrs. Myrtle McGlone and Mrs. Coba Garvin, both of Olive Hill; four sons, Junior Stamper of Columbus, Ohio, James Stamper of Mansfield, Ohio, Calvin Stamper of Olive Hill and Bob Stamper of Soldier; a brother, Russell Stamper of Portsmouth; and a sister, Mrs. Bessie Wold of New Boston, Ohio.

The funeral arrangements are being handled by Leslie A. Henderson Funeral Home in Olive Hill.
