from the book"From the Roughbark to the Buttes". It contains the geographical and pioneer history of Rural Municipality of Norton #69, the villages of Amulet, Forward, Khedive, Moreland, and Pangman. Printed in 1981. ..... "Rev. George ShearerMr. Shearer homesteaded south of Khedive on SW 3, SE 4-8-19. He was an ordained minister and came from Bright, Ont. He was the first teacher at Buffalo Valley school. He went to school from his homestead and picked up the Anderson child on his way to school. He preached at Trail school. He left the area in the fall of 1911 and returned to Ontario......." According to his obituary, George was a minister at North Hill Presbyterian Church at the time of his death. A transcript of his career shows that he had been at that church for just one week. Prior to that he had been a minister the church in Carstairs. He had been ill a short time. It is curious to note that there were no survivors mentioned...even though he was survived by hiswife. Shee died almost 30 years later.
