1864- George Washington Reddick enlisted in the Company Home Guard, Regt' home guard of the state of Fl.Company was disbanded in the state of Fl. at the Battle of Marrania ( Marianna)on the day of May 1865 at the close of the War. First Stationed at Whitfield to guard a Boat, Then after some time went with others from Euchieanna to Vernon and was joined to Capt. Jones Com. (Eucheeanna is just south of De Funiak Spuings. Henry Reddick organized the Walton guards there) They went to protect Marrianna. Some of their men were killed and some captured. George got away and was not called back to service. After the battle at Marianna they were advised that the war was over and the men could go home. Their Capt. was captured there. Pension of 1929, file #A10171 & A08877.
