George Warren Raper, son of Cyrus and Emma Irvin Raper, was born near Doddsville, Illinois, April 19, 1864, and passed away at the Culbertson hospital in Rushville, March 8, 1938, being at the time of his death 73 years, 10 months and 17 days. He was of a family of six children, four girls and two boys. Lou, of Littleton, Mrs. Francis Horney, Mrs. Dell Barclay, Mrs. Homer Holmes, all of Macomb; one sister dying in infancy. He was married to Eva Lena Murphy Jan 24, 1896. To this union three sons were born, Howard of Kansas City, Mo.; Earl of Bowen, Ill.; Mansel dying at the tender age of four years and five months. Besides the wife and sons, two grandchildren, Lawrence Raymond and Norma Eilene are left to mourn the loss of one who often spoke that they will never know how well I love them. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He was a good father, neighbor and friend. Funeral services were held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the M. E.
