Facts and Events
Name George Purvis
Gender Male
Christening[1] 31 Dec 1777 Edlingham, Northumberland, England
Marriage 27 Apr 1806 Jarrow, Durham, Englandto Mary Brown (add)

On the christening records of some of his children he gives his place of birth as Long Eglingham Northland, which is a nonsense place, he could mean Eglingham in Northumberland which is different to his place of baptism which was recorded concurrent with the event not a memory 30 or 40 years later.

There do not appear to be any census records for George which implies he died before 1841. There is only one record for a death that also fits with a birth in 1777 which is 22 December 1812 in South Shields, this is 9 months before the last child is born so is just possible.[2] [3]
