George was born July 11, 1934 in Saratoga, Iowa, the son of George, Sr. and Mildred Aebly Peters. He married Alice Hurst October 8, 1955, in Cresco, Iowa. She preceded him in death on March 4, 1999. He then married Erma Heyer on Sep. 23, 2000. Mr. Peters served in the Army with 101st Army Airborne Division in Germany. In 1958 he moved his family to Waterloo and worked at the Rath Meat Packing Plant until it's closing. George then worked at the Lutheran Home in Cedar Falls until his retirement in 1998. He is survived by his wife; his mother and stepfather, Mildred (Walt) Meier of Riceville; three sons, Mike (Carol) Peters of Waterloo, Douglas (Mary) Peters of Denver, Co, and Christopher (Phyllis) Tempest of Klamath Falls, Or; one daughter, Susan (Neal) Kemp of Aurora, IL; one stepson, Steven (Linda) Heyer of Waterloo; one stepdaughter, Debra (Steve) Digmann of Waterloo; two brothers, Larry (Marilynn) Peters of Indianola, and Kenneth (Mary) Peters of Rochester, MN; one sister, Marian Marvin of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren; one stepgrandson; and three great grandchildren.
