George was a farmer. The 1870 census shows George living with his parents and wife in Newton Township, Barton County, Missouri. George served during the Civil War in the army of the United States of America. He enlisted as a private on March 1, 1862 in Company D, Eightieth Missouri Cavalry. He was discharged from Company E, Fourteenth Missouri Cavalry as a sergeant. George broke his neck in a fight. George died on July 8, 1879. He is buried in Round Prairie Cemetery, Milford Township, Barton County, Missouri. References
