The Lord called George to his heavenly home on Jan. 9, 1999 at Somerset Hospital. Born Aug. 18, 1918 in Meyersdale, son of the late George A. and Emma (Jackson) Martin. Also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Opal and two brothers, Edgar and Earl. Survived by his wife of 55 years, the former Doris J. Opal and two children, Gary W. Martin, Plymouth, IN; and JoAnn, wife of Larry Green, Meyersdale; also four grandchildren, Gregory Martin, Greta Schoolman, Jodi and Scott Green, and three great-grandchildren, and a brother, Glenn Martin, of Meyersdale. Attended the Meyersdale Grace Brethren Church. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Monday at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Pastor Randy Haulk officiating. Interment Union Cemetery,Meyersdale.
