As for his sister Emma, there are two entries for George's birth - one with DICKSON [sic] and one with LEWIS. On both his mother is given as Ellen DICKSON and his father as unknown. His death certificate, however, shows GROVES as his surname.

Apparently, his mother's husband, ? LEWIS, died in 1877 (according to her marriage certificate to George GROVES - although the death may refer to her first husband, John POWER). However, George LEWIS/DICKSON was born in 1879. Ellen married George GROVES in 1880, but perhaps, considering his name, George jnr was the son of George GROVES.

There is a George Lewis Dickson married who Elsa Elizabeth Myrtle EDWARDS in Victoria in 1926, Reg. No. 4125. This may be him.
