    Buzzing Machine in His Room.

George Lauchnor, twenty-two years of age, a resident of Pittsburg, Pa., reached this city Tuesday night, having come here for the purpose of seeing the President. He says he spent the night at the home of his uncle, Elias Berger, 608 9th street northeast. Yesterday morning he appeared at the White House and met Sergt. Ralph Bryan.

The caller explained to the sergeant that he was an applicant for the position of superintendent of the Carnegie steel plant in Pittsburg, but that he was prevented from getting the position because some person had put an infernal buzzing machine in his room for the purpose of driving him crazy. He said he thought the President might put a stop to the work of his enemies and restore his mind.

Sergt. Bryan placed the caller under arrest and sent him to the first precinct police station to be examined by the police surgeons.

The police surgeons passed upon the prisoner as being insane and he was sent to St. Elizabeth's Hospital for the Insane.
