"Baltimore County Doctor of the Year" is the title bestowed upon Dr. George S.M. Kieffer of 1010 Leeds avenue, Arbutus, by the Baltimore County Medical Association. A silver tray was presented Dr. Kieffer by the Medical Association at the recent Doctors' Day dance. Born in Baltimore City, Dr. Kieffer was educated in the public schools and was graduated in 1900 by the Maryland College of Pharmacy with the degree of Graduate of Pharmacy. In 1903, he received the degree of Doctor of Medicine from the University of Maryland. He has been in active practice in Baltimore county and Baltimore City since then, except for a period of service as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army Medical Corps at a field hospital in France during World War I. Dr. Kieffer is one of the first medical examiners to be named in Baltimore county. He has held this post since 1939. He is an active member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church and is a trustee of Siemers E.U.B. Church of Ridgewood. His wife is the former Miss Ada Louise Watts. They had two sons, one of whom is residing in San Francisco, Calif. The other was killed in France during World War II. We add our salute for Dr. Kieffer to that of the Medical Association.
