- Vol. 6, Pg. 249, Will of George Hott, Sr., of Frederick County, Virginia, dated March 22, 1791 and Admitted to Probate February 7, 1797.
- I George Hott Sr. do make and ordain this my last will and testament. I will and ordain that all my just debts and funeral charges be paid equally by my four sons, George, Samuel, John and Henry out of my estate. Also I will that my beloved wife Magdalena be well and sufficiantly supported out of my said estate, by my said four sons during her natural life, agreeable to contract as per their bond to me. I will to my son George Hott, ONE SHILLING, he having his portion in lands heretofore. I will and devise to my sons Samuel, John and Henry Hott, their heirs and assigns forever, all that tract of land whereupon they now live, which I purchased from Jacob Sowers, excepting what I have sold to George Scott. Each of their parts of said land to be and remain in the manner and form, now laid off and surveyed as by draught and division thereof made and bounded, excepting such as they may think fit to make for their further convenience and advantage. My personal property to be divided equally.
