(3) John Hott Sr., born circa 1742 in Pennsylvania and died circa 1822 near Caudy's Castle in Hampshire County. He married Anna Maria Theobold on March 19, 1765 in Lancaster, Penn. They raised a large family and have the largest number of descendants who remain in the area, through their sons John (1780-1840), who married Sarah, and David (1785-1844), who married Catherine Shanholtzer. John Sr. may have remarried, as tradition says there is Indian blood in this branch of the family.
