Daily Times-News, The Monday, September 26, 1966 George Edwin Holt Jr.., 69, former Alamance County treasurer, died last night at o'clock at his home at 401 S. Eighth St. He had been in declining health for several months. A native of Mebane, Mr. Holt served as treasurer and accountant for' Alamance County for 30 years, retiring last year. He was a son of the late George Edwin Holt and Attelia Yancey Mebane Holt. He was a member of Mebane Presbyterian Church, where he had served as a deacon. A veteran of World War I, he .was a member of the Mebane American Legion Post and a mem- ber of Bingham Masonic Lodge No. 272 He was' former member of Mebane Kiwanis Club. Surviving is Ms wife, Mrs.. DUKE MCCRACKEN Holt of the home. Final rites will be conducted tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock at Oakwood Cemetery.
