    George Gish born1762
Here is my research on George Gish And Maria Susanna Stover
1792 moved from Cumberland Co PA to VA. He enrolled in Capt. Peeble's roster (3rd Co, 6th Batt) in 1781 and 1782.
1823 moved from VA to IL
George married Susanna Stover, sister of his brother John's wife. He came to Virginia from Pennsylvania in 1792 and purchased land from William Fleming by deed dated April 9 1793 on the waters of Glade Creek, on the great road from Richmond to Big Lick, next to land belonging to his brother David, he along with others, left Roanoke, Va in 1823 and went to Woodford Co, Illinois. Several of his sons and grandchildren went with him. They carved out a whole county, formed boundary lines, established themselves as officials of the county, etc. They founded the first church in the area , a brethern church, called Panther Creek Church. These people being mostly from Roanoke Valley called their county and county seat Roanoke. His son George remained in Va.
    Lawyer
Will- Book E, Page 123 Botetourt Co, VA dated 27 Aug 1828. Settlement Will book B, page 465. 20 Jun 1834. He had to be in VA when the will was written (because he signs ite) and he had to write a will in VA because he still owned land there. But he could still have died in Illinois. He may have even had a will in Illinois.(should check this) So at this time he could have died either place but seems more probable in VA

Some people have Mchenry for a middle name but I think that was a later generation

His descendents that moved to Woodford co Illinois. Sons and grandsons: Christian, Abraham, William, Garman, George, Thomas W, Lewis C, James R, John, Jospeh,
George W, James sR and John were ministers
