The third of the FEBIGER brothers, George Lee FEBIGER, born December 8 1822 and died January 22, 1891 and was commissioned Major and Paymaster, United States Army, May 3, 1861; Brevet Lieutenant Colonel, March 13, 1865, "for faithful and meritorious services during the war;â" Lieutenant Colonel December 31, 1879, and Colonel and acting Paymaster General, January 24, 1881. He retired from active service December 8, 1886.
He was married three times:
- first to Annie FISHER;
- secondly, to Caroline A. SMITH and
- thirdly to Frances PLEASANTS.
Issue, four children, one by the second wife and three by the third, the three survivors being Colonel Lea FEBIGER U.S.A., Fort Wright, Spokane, Washington, and Mrs. William BEEBE and Mrs Russell HOTCHKISS, both of 262 Bradley Street, New Haven, Conn. ...
