"The will of George Downing, gentleman, of Spexhall, dated 14 May 1655 and proved on 16 August 1655, named properties in St. Andrew and St. Lawrence (Ilketshall), named no wife or children, and gave his estate to cousin William Downing, Mr. Miles and hiswife, Mrs. Barber, John Prust, Kenson Prust, George Barber, cousin Mrs. Tyliard, and nephew William Blois. One of the witnesses to the will was Mary Mighals."[1]
