George J. Dallas was born June 10, 1855, in the State of Alabama, and died in Milam County, Texas, July 28, 1881, aged twenty-six years one month and eighteen days. Bro. Dallas was converted and joined the Methodist Church in August, 1878. The writer was his pastor for two years, and knew him to be a faithful and devoted member of the church. One week before his death he attended church, and in an experience meeting expressed himself as happy in the Lord. He was ever ready by his presence, and his means to uphold the church of his choice and the cause of the Master he loved so well. He was a kind and devoted husband and son. He was recording steward of Milam's circuit at the time of his death. He leaves a young wife and tender babe (the second was born after his death). Also an aged mother who is now absent in Alabama on a visit, two sisters in Texas, two in Alabama and one in California to mourn his death.
