Biography

George William Curnes was born 26 September 1862 in Pike County, Illinois, the son of Abel Curnes and Mary Emory. He married Sarah Hendrickson on 17 October 1882 at Warren County, Iowa. He died 25 May 1938 in Liberty Center, Warren, Iowa and is buried in Hendrickson Cemetery, Warren County, Iowa.

BIRTH AND PARENTS

George William Curnes was born 26 September 1862 at Pike County, Illinois, the son of Abram Curnes and Marry Emory. He is first enumerated in the household of Abel and Mary Curnes (spelled "Kerns" in the census record) in the 1870 United States Census, where he is stated to be eight years old and born in Illinois.

George William Curnes married Sarah Hendrickson on 17 October 1882 at Warren County, Iowa.

Osceola Weekly Sentinel (Osceola, Iowa) 31 January 1895 p.8, col.2: Colasence, the sweet little babe of Mr. and Mrs. George Curnes, died last Monday night, the 21st, of lung fever, and was buried near Liberty Center, Wednesday. They have the sympathy of the community in their sad affliction. May they be comforted by the blessed assurance that their darling is safe in the arms of a loving Jesus.
