Will Transcript

In the Name of God Amen I George Cryer of Surry County being in Perfect Mind & Memory do make and Ordain this my last Will & Testament in manner & form as followeth
First & Principally I Bequeath my Soul to the Hands of Almighty God my (?) of Jesus Christ my redeemer Trusting in his Mercy for Remission of all my Sins & for what Estate it hath Pleased God to Bless me with I Dispose of it as it hereafter expressed.
Secondly, I Give and Bequeath to my Daughter Eliza Cryer three Negroes Namely Rose & her Two children Will & Moll to her & her Heirs for ever.
Thirdly, I Give and Bequeath to my Loving Wife Ann, after my Just Debts is all Paid all the Rest Residue and Remainder of my Estate both Real and Personal of what Nature Quantity & Quality sown. During her Life and then at the Death of my said Wife Ann I Desire it may all Descend to my said Daughter Eliza Cryer & her heirs forever. But if my said Wife Ann should Prove to be now with Child, I then give unto that Child when it arrives to Twenty One Years Old or is Married the above mentioned Residue & Remainer of my Estate, except one thing of which I then Give to my said Wife Ann During her Life and then at her Death for it to Descend to the said Child and to its Heirs for ever.
Fourthly & Lastly I do Nominate and Appoint my said Wife Ann & John Watkins Executors of this my last Will and Testament revoking and making void all former Will or Wills by me made & do Declare this to be my last In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Affixed my Seal Twenty sixth Day of April, 1762.

The aforewritten last Will and Testament of George Cryer Deceased was Presented by Ann Cryer one of the Exrx therein Names who made Oath thereto and being Proved by the Oaths of Patrick Adams & Robert Watkins two of the Witnesses thereto is Ordered to be Recorded And on the Motion of the said Exrx certificate is Granted her for Obtaining a probate thereof in Due form."
