George Casebolt, P. O., Miami. Is a son of William and Ellen Casebolt, and was born January 20, 1827, (his age was never set down in any record, and there is some dispute about it,) in Pocahontas county, Virginia, where he was raised on a farm. In 1844 he came to Saline county, Missouri, with his father, and has since been closely identified with this county. In 1849, he was married to Miss Jane Moberly. She died in 1850, leaving on child, Sarah, now living. In 1851 he married again, to Miss Martha Ferrill, who died in 1877, leaving nine children, all living: Lewis F. L., John M., Edmond W., Willie, Sterling P., Liddie B., Joseph, Rolla, and Georgie. He was married again, March 1880, to Miss Ellen Bowen. Is a member of the Christian Church and a master mason. He was in the Confederate army, (see soldier’s record). His farm contains 160 acres of land, in home place, and 506 acres elsewhere. He lost about $2,000 worth of property in the war. He is indebted to his own exertions solely for his prosperity.
