GEORGE BLACK b. 24 July 1892 d. Feb 1977 61910 (Arcola, Douglas, IL)

Uncle George never married, having taken care of his mother, Laura, until her death in 1948. He was the family historian, keeping every letter,Bible, picture, etc. Much of my info about the Moores, Blacks, Louthans etc. came from his house. He was killed by a train going through Arcola.

He was tall and slender, with a narrow face. He loved to smoke cigars. He was friendly but a bit aloof. He was quite the inventor, having a garage full of his inventions. He said that he invented the metal spatula, of which I have several. He liked to talk about the family history.
