email from [email protected] Your "Lovehall Monikie" caught my attention as my 2nd gt-grandfather lived at Lovehall in 1881 ( 1881 census Monikie ) He was a quarrier / stonecutter and we presumed that he would have been employed at the nearby quarry at Wellbank. Today I was in Monikie Churchyard and again Lovehall caught my eye. A gravestone reads, Erected by ELIZABETH COWE in loving memory of her husband GEORGE WATSON BARRIE farmer LOVEHALL Monikie who died 16 Sept. 1944 aged 80. Also his father GEORGE BARRIE who died 17 Dec 1927 and his mother MARY BRAND who died 6 Jan.1928. Also the above ELIZABETH COWE who died 26 May 1961. At rest.
