Brother Anstine and family moved to Darke County, Ohio in 1835 - it was here he received license to preach first bearing date March 31, 1843, United Brethren. He soon after became a member of Miami Conference and remained such until he removed to Illinois in 1854. He first settled near Farmington, but finally settled in Orange Township. The last annual Conference session he attended was held in Alexis, Warren County, in 1888.

He married Mary Ann Stickley September 22, 1833. To this union was born eight children as follows: Nancy, Henry, William, Nathaniel, Mary, George, Jacob and Lavina.

Mary Ann Stickley was born in Akron, Ohio, December 3, 1813.
