from "they came to mara", p. 29: "George Anson and his wife, Bridget Kelly...were living in Mara during the early 1880s when their sons, Samuel Alan and Thomas, were baptized in local parishes. George Anson did not own land in Mara.

In 1891 Samuel Anson was living in the Lennon Household. It was said Sam married the widow of Billy McInerny of Brock Township and moved to the area of Detroit, Michigan, where he lived for many years. Sam was known for his booming voice and good nature."
