"Dear Brother and sister,
It is withe pleasure that I seat my self to write you a few line to let you know that we are all well as comon and hope these lines may finde you all well. You could not gell how glade I was to hear from you once more and hear you was all well. Times tolable hard hear, money scarse. Corn .50 per bushel, wheat one dolar per bushel, drygood and groceres about as they are. They cattle, horses low. Elisha, I am well and stout enough to go to Sunday School. Say my hearte lerson like a child. I read by Bible every day. I have bin through by bible four times. Do you read your bible? You wanted to know how many children I had. Amanday, she is dead. Demarius, she is dead. She left three children. Nathaniel, he is dead, left two children. They are both grown an teaching school. Allin, he is dead. Cass is yet living, though very weekly. She is a widow an has one little girl. She lives with me. Lizzy a well. She has six children. James P. is living and well. He is a widower and four children. George A.C., he is living and well, he has five children. He lives in Dunnville, Casey Co., KY. He is a great doctor. Daniel P., he is alive an has three children. Abijah C. and he is single and lives with us. William is dead. He died last christmas day. He was parcticeing medicine and had got a good practice. He left a wife and two boys. Adison R., he has a wife an one childe. He is most ready for practice. They was seven of the Aarons died in a less than eighteen months. Abraham died laste Christmas time. I am all that is living of the familly and I have bin very weakly for a longe time. The Bradshaws is all alive and well. Galiton lives close to me. I saw Bill yesterday. He said he would like to see you all. His wife has bin dead five years. He is still single, 8 children. Elisha, I was so glade to heare from you, when we was young. I love you an would like to see you all. I want your picture to look at. Tell me about your children and tell them to rite to me. I will close, write soon.
