    His tombstone still existed as late as 1939. This photograph of it came from the published history of the church. During a 1992 visit, a thorough search was made
    for the stone (it had a very distinctive shape), but it could not be located. It has apparently finally succumbed to the passage of time. Records do exist at the archives in Strausburg that show his birth date as 29 Dec 1682 which conflicts with the age at death shown on the tombstone. Another record shows that at his arrival abourd the ship Samuel in August of 1733 he was age 48. Both items show he did not die at age 104. Wives: Catharina Burkhard, Catharina Reiss, and Susanna Zigler. Children: George, Jacob, Michael, Eva, Catharina, Conrad, Anna, Mary, John, Lorentz, Peter.
