Herald-Sun, The (Durham, NC) - July 16, 2004 Deceased Name: Genevieve Isley Burgess BURLINGTON - Mrs. Genevieve Isley Burgess, 87, of Burlington Manor on 3615 S. Mebane St, and formerly of W. Kime St., died Thursday morning, July 15, 2004. She was born in Alamance County to the late Joseph Albright Isley and the late Estelle Ingle Isley. Mrs. Burgess retired from General Tire Supply and Burlington Tire Service. She was a member of Front Street United Methodist Church, and was active in church projects. She was also a member at large of Gibsonville United Methodist Church. Mrs. Burgess is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Estelle Isley Thomas and husband, Ed, of Durham; and her grandchild, Mr. Scott Thomas of Durham. She is preceded in death by her first husband, the late Wallace H. Isley and second husband, the late Lewis A. Burgess, as well as 13 brothers and sisters. Graveside services will be held Sunday, July 18, 2004, 2 p.m., at Alamance Memorial Park, with the Rev. G. Robert McKenzie, the Rev. David Greene, and the Rev. Lara Greene. The family will be at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 12:30 til 1:30 p.m. on Sunday prior to the graveside service.
