Details received from Wm. D. Klopfenstein, Summer, 1996; based on Harry Fletcher's histroy written by Fern Maxine Simmons Alfred, 1987, received by Wm.D. via Hazel (Boysen) Anderson; div. Apr 1935; cause of death-large cell lymphoma-cancer. Geneva and Harold never lived together. Fern met her father approximately 1954. Fern was raised by her Fletcher grandparents on a Columbus Junction farm until she was 11 years old. Moved to Burlington, IA, with her mother. Geneva worked in George Melcher home, then with him in grocery store until Dec 1946. Worked at Schaeffer Pen Company at Fort Madison, IA, until she retired 31 Apr 1975. Diabetes 1967; Cancer 1986. Both graduated Wyman High School, 1928. 1930 Census, Marshall Twp, Louisa Co, IA, has: Harry and Hazel Fletcher family, including: Geneva Simmons, dau, 19, IA3, with Fern M. Simmons, grand-dau, 1 8/12, IA3.
