Gene Crumrine was born October 28, 1930 in Uniopolis, Ohio, the son of Ralph Crumrine and Ella (Seibert) Crumrine. He passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2019 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Gene grew up in Ohio and joined the United States Air Force soon after graduating high school.

For a time, he was stationed at Tinker Air Force Base here in Oklahoma, where he met Jeanne Wiley. They were married on October 3, 1953 in Chickasha, Oklahoma and had 52 years together before her passing in 2005.

After his military service, Gene attended and graduated from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. The family then moved to Baltimore, Maryland where Gene worked for USF&G as an insurance agent. He also worked for USF&G in Oklahoma City for a brief time before moving to Chickasha to help run Wiley Insurance Agency, which was owned by his in-laws. He eventually bought the insurance agency and was a member of the Chickasha community for many years.

Gene was a long-time member of Epworth United Methodist Church. At one time, he was a member of the Country Club and played golf on occasion. He loved to spend time fishing and he loved his family deeply.

He was preceded in death by both parents, his wife, Jeanne, and two brothers, Brice and Jack Crumrine.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Debby and David Romig of Tulsa and Lisa and Tim Smith of Chickasha; son, David Crumrine; grandchildren, Kelsey Romig, Ashlee Ryans, Taylor and John Milner, Spenser Crumrine and Carson Crumrine; great-grandchildren, Aubrey Ryans, Baylee Ryans, Maddox Milner and Oaklyn Crumrine; other extended family and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2019 in the Epworth United Methodist Church with Reverend Scott Keneda officiating. Services and cremation arrangements and interment in Fairlawn Cemetery are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
