Gene L. Barnes, age 74 of North Sewickley Township, died Wednesday, May 16, 2012 in Heritage Valley Beaver.
Born May 3, 1938 in Chicora, PA son of the late James”Bert” & Evelyn (Barr) Barnes. He was a US Army Veteran. He worked at Babcock & Wilcox Tubular Products, Wallace Run Plant for 19 years and retired from HAP Enterprises after 15 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Patricia (Zirot) Barnes, a daughter and son-in-law, Patty Ann & Paul Stephens, North Sewickley Twp.; three grandchildren, who were the love of his life, Lily Rose & Shane Paul Stephens, & Julia Doucette. A sister Helen Morgan, Apollo; a brother Donald (Helen) Barnes, Rochester; a sister Deanna (Lee) Lanigan, Rochester; and numerous nieces and nephews. His mother-in-law, Lillian Zirot; a nephew Ian (Amy) Doucette; sister-in-law Tammy Jo Zirot , all of which resided with him. Sister-in-law Geraldine Dellafate, New Brighton; a brother-in-law; Fred(Sue) Zirot, FL; brother-in-law Peter Zirot, caregiver to John Knight, and special friends Fred Campbell & Rich Zirot. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother William Barnes and a nephew Billy Barnes.
