Gayle graduated from Onalaska High School, Onalaska, Wisconsin where she was active in band (flute), choir (accompanist), intramural sports, and was co-editor of the Annual Onalaskan her senior year. She attended St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minnesota graduating cum laude in 1976 with a RN and B.S. in nursing. She worked at the Golden Valley Hospital, Golden Valley, Minnesota 1976-1978 and at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minnesota 1978-1982. When her husband finished his residency in Family Practice, they moved to Madison, Minnesota where she was active in community and church as children's choir director, S. S. teacher and President of the congregation. Gayle died from complications following surgery to repair a ruptured cerebral aneurism. References
