GAVIN BLACK, who married SARAH HAMBRIGHT, came to BLOUNT COUNTY, TENNESSEE and brought with them at least one son, under 16 years of age. Then, in the years following, when actual records are to be found, names of persons who were undoubtedly sons of GAVIN BLACK begin to appear in the locality where they lived. Gavin Black later became Lieutenant in the Blount County, Tennessee Militia.
