    Garrett Cruzan died June __, 1878 in his 78th year. Deceased was a native of Kentucky; emigrated to Brown Co., Ohio in 1806, thence to Rush Co., Indiana and in the autumn of 1838(?) he settled in the locality of _____ , in which locality he resided during the remainder of his life. A funeral sermon was preached at the M.E. Church, Sabbath morning, to a large audience, by Rev. D.D. Powell. Deceased was a quiet citizen, a good neighbor and very devoted in his religious belief, a Sabbatarian. A number of friends and relatives survive him, among whom is a brother in his 85th year.
