WINCHESTER--Garnet D. Comer, 89, of Winchester, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at the IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.
She was born on June 29, 1922 in Darke County, Ohio to George and Delphi (Cumrine) Moore.
She was a homemaker and belonged to the Y's Owls and the East St. Congregational Christian Church, both of Winchester. She also loved playing euchre and bingo.
Garnet is survived by her daughter, Judy (husband-J.W.) Nunley of Losantville; her son, Charles (wife-Patricia) Hall of Winchester; her step-son, Bill (wife-Kay) Comer of Winchester; eight grandchildren, Teresa (husband-Mort) Bradford of Modoc, Jeff (wife-Vanda) Nunley of Losantville, grandson-in-law, Dave Oakley of Richmond, Kathy (husband-Danny) Antrim of Ridgeville, Melanie (husband-Clint) Walker of Mooreland, Katie (husband-Steve) Hartley of Phoenix, AZ, Kent (wife-Sontina) Hall of New Orleans, LA, Mandy (husband-Chad) Suttles of Cambridge CIty; 10 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Melvin Hall; her second husband, Robert W. Comer; a granddaughter, Tammy Oakley; four brothers, and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, June 22, 2012 at Walker Funeral Home in Winchester with Pastor Mort Bradford officiating. Burial will follow in Spartanburg Cemetery in Spartanburg. Friends and relatives may call from 12-3 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
