- Source:Crafts, James M. Crafts Family, p. 162, says Frederick Augustus Heath m. (3) May 1863 Garafelia, d/o Thomas and Eliza Smith of Medford, she dying Oct 1880. However, the marriage record names the wife as Marie Madeline Smith, birth record of son Charles names the mother as Marie M, and a deed in 1865 names his wife as Marie M. (Suffolk deed Vol. 524, p. 275). There was a Garafelia born to Thomas and Eliza Smith in 1842 (e.g., 1855 census, right side, line 16). But no evidence has been found that she married Frederick Heath, or a death record to confirm her age or parents. Oct 1880 appears to be an incorrect death date, as Frederick's death record says he was a widower, he has no wife listed in 1870 census line 17, nor 1880 census line 20.
