Gayle Deckard

Fostoria -- Gayle I Deckard, 83, of Stinchcomb Drive, Fostoria, died at 3: 40 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, 2002, at St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria.

She was born Oct. 28, 1918, in Iler to Raleigh and Myrtle (Good) Lawyer. S he married Robert G Deckard on Jan. 5, 1941, in Fostoria, and he died Oc t. 27, 1969.

Surviving are a son, Robert C of Fostoria; a daughter, Lynn Stearns, Fosto ria; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Slick.

Mrs. Deckard retired in 1980 as an inventory clerk at Buckeye Auto Part s. She previously was a clerk at Edison's Drug Store, Fostoria.

She was a 1936 graduate of Jackson Liberty High School.

She was a member of High St United Methodist Church, Fostoria, and volunte ered at Fostoria Soup Kitchen.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Knollcrest Garden s, east of Findlay, the Rev. Jeffrey L Waite officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to National Veteran Association or a charity of t he donor's choice.
