CENSUS: 1790: 2 white males 16 and up (incl. Gad) 2 white males under 16 4 white females MILITARY SERVICE: Private, Capt. John Morgan's Company, detached from militia of Hampshire and Worcester Counties; enlisted 7 January 1778; discharged 1 July 1778; guarded stores and magazines at Springfield and Brookfield; Capt. John Carpenter's Company enlisted 11 March 1779; discharged 11 June 1779, with guards at Springfield; 6 months service with the Continental Army during 1780, marched 27 June 1780, discharged 27 December 1780; also second company Col. Gideon Burt's (Hampshire Co.) regiment for seven days service, 12 June 1782 to retake Samuel Ely who was rescued from the Springfield jail, also 16 June, 1782 to oppose the rioters assembled at Northampton.
