He had been a national contender in the bantam weight division fro 1920 to 1931 fighting out of Erie, Pa., Scranton, Pa, Buffalo, NY and Detroit, MI under the name Freddy Thompson. Winning 200 and losing only 12. A former member of Local 214 Laborers Union. Prior to his retirement in 1968, he had been employed by the City of Oswego Department of Parks.
