Reading the 1900 census, his farm of 6 acres was mortgaged. The family lived in Alaiedon Twp. (house 251/259). Frederick and Mary Ellen had been married 20 years. Arthur was old enough to be assigned an occupation of Farm Laborer; Frederick was a farmer.
