Facts and Events
Moved to North Fork Before 1802 Mike, Under the family of Fredrick --13 - --Adam . I thought you might be interested in another one of his ch.--Isabel who md. Henry F. Keller. She & Amanda were not in the 1850 census as they were md. 1850 census --Adam-47; Jezebel- 42; Lucinda-22; Ruhama-19; Marion-15; Isaac Y.-12; Mayberry C.-10; Andrew J.-8; Adam J.M.- 6. In the 1850 PC WV census listed was Henry F. Keller--22; Isabelle-18. I was in contact with Cathy Thompson who traced Isabelle . In 1860 census, Randolph Co. Dry Fork, #750; KELLER Henry- 31; Isabel-25; Mary A.-10; John A.-7; Jacob-5; 1860-63--moved to Iowa, dau. Martha born Iowa @@ 1863 1870 census;-Iowa, Apponose Co. KELLER Henry F,-42; Isabelle-38; John A.-18; Jacob-H.-15; Martha-7; ? Rebecca-17 1880 census,-KELLER Henry-50; Isabel- 47; John-28; Jacob-25; Martha-17; Francis-6; Amanda-17 I don't know if you have the Hinkle History but it too has some errors (as Morton) but very good for tracing family . The info that I found interesting was about Jezebel Hinkle's father, Michael Henkle, local Methodist Minister, prominent farmer & stockraiser on the North Fork of the South Branchof the Potomac River, one of the largest tax payers in the Co. , a slave owner, Justice of the Peace, sheriff of the Co. 1852-53. & soldier in the War of 1812-14. His will dated 5 Oct. 1854 & probated 3 Oct. 1861, provided "for his three daughters: Delilah Phare, Jezebel Hedrick, Abigail Harper, all my children" The will of Adam Hedrick dated 11 Dec. 1856, probated 3 Dec.1857 ,included wife Jezebel, five sons, & four daughters. Henry F. Keller (son-in-law) executor, witnesses: Benjamin Y. Smith, Michael Hedrick ( perhaps his younger brother) (Will book 4, page 374, filed Franklin, WV. I would like to see his will as to what land was left to Jezebel . It seems strange that a minister or anyone would name a daughter Jezebel or Delilah.. I'm still looking over these Hedrick descendants & finding it very informative. Sorry that i have to wait on my Grandson to help me out. He is now going to George Mason U. for a few classes in Computer Science so with a job & studies, he is busy. I read him a few lines of your E-mail about your Granddad & knowing his family but SOMEONE was not too interested in hearing. . Thank you again for all this material-Dorothy References
