Frederick Fromm and wife Maria Barbara Himmelman arrived in Philadelphia on the ship Samuel in 1737 and established their home in Bern Township, Berks County. Frederick died in 1774 in Berks County, with Barbara's death recorded there in 1798 by the Reverend J. W. Boos. Son Frederick Fromm and his wife Christina raised a family of at least nine children in that locality.
