Frank Hamstra died in an accident while working at the farm of his uncle and aunt Pieter and Antje Nieuwsma. He was driving a wagon pulled by a team of horses, when an automobile frightened the horses. The horses bolted and Frank was thrown under the wagon. He died from internal injuries.
