CEDAR FALLS- Franklin E. Walton, 99, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Plover, Rolfe, and Parkersburg, died Tuesday, March 22, at his home.
He was born July 19, 1911 in Manson, son of John B. and Illah B. (Lent) Walton. He married Edna M. Sperring on June 15, 1947 in Manson. She died September 10, 1990.
He owned and operated a service station in Plover and later was employed as a mechanic at the Rost Motors in Manson.
Survived by: two daughters, Fayeth (Thomas Furneaux) Walton of Cedar Falls and Carmen Hubbell of Plover; one son, Eugene Walton of Minneapolis, MN; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: a brother, John H. Walton; and four sisters, Inez, Myrtle, Ella Jane and Imogene.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at the Richardson Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, with a Celebration of Life Service at 3 p.m. Services and inurnment are planned for August in Plover, IA.
