THE PARIS NEWS, Fri., Aug. 8, 1997, p. 8B: 'Franklin Leonard Steelman, 62, of Paris died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 1997 at St Joseph's Hospital and Health Center. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Dean Kilmer officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The body will lie at the funeral home until 6 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Saturday. He was born March 6, 1935, in Greggton to R. L. and Mable Bennett Steelman. He had served in the Marine Corps and was a retired railroad worker. He was a member of Lamar Avenue Church of Christ. He married Clavelin Ann Jackson Oct. 10, 1959. Surviving are his wife; a son, Robert Steelman and wife Terry of Paris; a daughter, Dianne Steelman Marrs and husband Jeff of Austin; two grandchildren, Chelsea L. and Taylor E. Steelman of Paris; and two sisters, Mary Alice Tuttle of Paris and Opal Ellen Patterson of Dallas. Pallbearers will be David Chapman, Jon Dean, Kelly Baxley, Jayson Horton, David Vest, Randy Rader, Larry Borden, Don Morrell and Gary Chapman. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.'
