Frank J Henry Oct. 14,1919 -- Feb. 5, 2003

Frank J Henry, 83, of Fremont, died Wednesday at Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Fremont to Irving T & Ola (Sprout) Henry and they are decea sed. Frank was raised in Xenia at the OH Soldier's & Sailors Orphans Hom e. On June 3, 1947, he married Florence E Corwin at St. Joseph Recto ry by Father Schenk and she died on Dec. 15, 1971.

In October 1940 though August 1945 he served during World War II with t he Company "B" 148th Infantry in the 37th Division as a Technical Sergean t. He served in the South Pacific, Asiatic Theater from May 1942 through A ugust 1945 and was decorated with the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon wi th two Bronze Stars, the American Defense Service Medal, the Philippine Li beration Ribbon with one Bronze Star, the Good Conduct Ribbon and the Bron ze Star Medal for Heroism.

Frank worked as a night watchman for Union Carbide retiring in 1982.

Frank was a former member of the VFW, loved walking in Spiegel Grove, fish ing and enjoyed high school and little league games.

Surviving are children Kenneth (Kathy) Henry of Fremont, Pamela (Dave) Dru ckenmiller of Lindsey, Tita (Mike) Blue of Fremont, seven grandchildren a nd eight great-grandchildren. Frank was preceded in death by son Jeffre y, four brothers, three sisters and great-grandson Trever.

Visitation: 10 a.m. to noon, Friday at Nopper-Karlovetz Mortuary.

Services: Noon at the funeral home with the Rev. Scott Snyder officiatin g.

Burial: Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde with military rites from the Ameri can Legion and VFW.

Memorials: Contributions may be made to Spiegel Grove, in care of R.B Hay es Presidential Center.
