Bio: Frank Goodman Davis, 74, former postmaster, died on Nov. 13, 1929, at his home, 223 West Main Street, from a paralytic stroke. He was stricken late Tuesday afternoon. About two years ago he sustained a similar stroke, but rallied at that time.Mr. Davis spent his entire life in and near Tippecanoe City. He was associated with many enterprises in Tippecanoe City during his life. His first position was with the Western Union Co. as telegraph operator. Later, he became interested in merchandising and for one-half century was the senior member of the firm of Davis & Smith. In this capacity, he became well known throughout Miami County. He assisted in the organization of the Tippecanoe City Whip Co., and later the Davis Whip Co., both of which were flourishing industries in Tippecanoe City at one time.During the administration of President Woodrow Wilson, Mr. Davis was rewarded for his leadership in Democratic politics for many years by being appointed to succeed U. J. Favorite as postmaster of Tippecanoe City. He retained that post for eight years. He retired from the merchandising business about 15 years ago.He is survived by his widow and three children, Mrs. Paul Braunschweiger, Troy; Miss Margaret Davis, Dayton; and Robert Davis, Tippecanoe City.
