[edit] =======================================Anchorage Daily News, 25 Feb 1994: FRANK "BUD" CAMPBELL Anchorage resident and businessman Frank "Bud" Gillman Campbell, 66, died Feb. 15 at Providence Hospital. No services are planned at this time. Mr. Campbell was born May 1, 1927, in Rome, N.Y. He was a World War II veteran and served with the U.S. Marine Corps. He had also served in the French Foreign Legion. Mr. Campbell came to Alaska in 1957. He owned a vending machine business and the Brown Bear Restaurant in Juneau from 1976 until retiring in 1982. Mr. Campbell moved to Arizona in 1984 and returned to Juneau in 1988. In 1989, he moved to Anchorage. His hobbies included playing poker at the Filipino Hall in Juneau, the outdoors, hunting, fishing, woodworking and making jewelry. He was preceded in death by two children, Denise Atkinson and David Campbell. He is survived by his wife, Jeannie of Anchorage; sons, Scotty of Anchorage, Craig of Iowa and Neil Atkinson of Juneau; stepson, Kenny Smith of Anchorage; daughter, Karol Spadafora of Rome; brother, Bruce of Fullerton, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.
